The song was released under his album ÷ (Divide) together with his other chart topping songs. Eventually, the song “Perfect” had a second version titled “Perfect Duet” with Beyoncé as Ed Sheeran’s co-singer.

The song was composed by Ed Sheeran and he dedicated every meaningful lyrics to his dear Cherry Seaborn. According to Ed, he wanted to beat his hit song “Thinking Out Loud” by creating a wonderful love song that will define him as an artist and composer, and the result is a beautiful ballad called “Perfect”.
